Privacy policy

The short version

• The iPhone app keeps your health data on your iPhone. There is no account and no server. We never receive your Apple Health readings, your reports or your goals.
• The app has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking.
• You decide what to share. Reports leave your phone only when you tap Share and pick a recipient.
• On this website, we collect your email only if you join the free list, and payment details are handled by Stripe, not by us.
• You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

1. The VitalWatchStudio iPhone app

What the app reads. The app asks Apple Health for read-only access to the categories you choose, such as sleep, steps, resting heart rate, heart rate, heart rate variability, weight, blood pressure, body fat, BMI, lean mass and VO₂ max. You can allow fewer categories at any time in the Health app. The app never writes to Apple Health.

Where it is processed and stored. Daily summaries, goals, settings and saved reports are calculated and stored on your iPhone, protected by iOS file protection and excluded from device backups. They are not sent to us or to any service we use. The app shows a privacy cover when it is not active.

What we receive. Nothing from the app about your health, your usage or your device. We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools in the app.

Sharing. The app can prepare a PDF, a Markdown summary and a CSV spreadsheet. These files are shared only through your iPhone's share sheet, to the person or service you choose. Once you share a file, that recipient's own practices apply, and we cannot delete copies you have sent elsewhere.

Purchases. In-app purchases (annual access and the Single Health Brief) are processed by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy. Apple gives us sales and subscription reports that do not identify your health data. Health Brief credits are stored in your device's Keychain.

Deleting your data. In Settings, choose "Delete all local customer data" to remove the app's reports, settings, checkpoints and temporary files. Deleting the app also removes its data. This does not delete your Apple Health records, your purchases or files you already shared.

2. This website (vitalwatchstudio.com)

Free list signup. If you join the free workshop and beta list, your email address goes directly to SendFox, our email provider, which stores it and sends the workshop and beta updates you asked for. This site does not store signups itself. You can unsubscribe from any email, or ask us to remove you. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which may set cookies and process technical information such as your IP address; Google's Privacy Policy and Terms apply.

Technical logs. Our web host (Namecheap) records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we do not set our own cookies.

DNS. Cloudflare provides domain name (DNS) services. It sees domain lookups, not the content of pages you view.

No health information is requested on this website.

3. Web purchases and coaching

Payments. Purchases on our website (the $27 skill files and the $97/month coaching plan) are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and billing information under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, amount, tax location and the status of your payment, but never your full card number.

Skill files. After you buy, we share a Google Drive folder with the email address you used to pay. Google processes that sharing under its own privacy policy.

Coaching. Coaching happens by email and scheduled calls. You choose what, if anything, to share. If you choose to send us a report, a screenshot or any health information, we will use it only to coach you, keep it confidential, and will not sell it or use it for advertising. Please do not send medical records, passwords or anything you are not comfortable sharing. We keep coaching correspondence only as long as needed to support you and to meet legal and accounting obligations, and delete health information you shared on request.

4. Email

We email you about the free workshop and beta because you asked. The free list does not sign you up for future offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing, or asking us to remove you, stops further email; we may keep a record that you opted out so that we do not email you again.

5. We do not sell your information

We do not sell personal information or health information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers named above (Apple, Stripe, SendFox, Google, Namecheap, Cloudflare) to run the services you use, and where the law requires.

6. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it, and you may withdraw consent you have given. Email us at admin@leekariuki.com. We will respond within 45 days, and may take up to 45 more days if we tell you why. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we will answer your appeal within 45 days. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact the Washington State Attorney General.

Washington's My Health My Data Act and other laws may give you additional rights over consumer health data. The iPhone app does not give us access to your health data. We hold health information only if you choose to send it to us, for example in coaching.

7. Children

VitalWatchStudio is for adults aged 18 and over in the United States. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

The app relies on iOS protections for data on your device. Our website uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your phone with a passcode and think before you share files.

9. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
